NEWS

We are very pleased here at CEFA to announce our New Head Coach for the Academy. Salvatore Cammarata. Salvi or Sal as he is know has a vast amount of experience in the soccer world from Professional player to Administrator.

We feel with Salvi on board we have taken another big step forward to establishing ourselves as a unique and well run soccer Academy here in Edmonton. Along with Marcus Johnstone, Jose Acosta and myself we feel we are well set up for the upcoming years ahead of us.

As most everyone knows we have the unique opportunity of not only providing proper and high quality training for our members here in Edmonton, but we also still remain to have our link into Germany with our Academy now well established in Heimstetten, Germany. Currently we have 12 players over there playing and training, with another set of players set to go this year again.

What we offer is an amazing opportunity not only for the Serious Professional minded players, but also, players in general here in Canada to improve their skills and be surrounded by a positive environment.

We hope you will join us in this continued growth towards your Soccer Aspirations.

Sincerely,
Wayne Kaiser

CEFA Announcements - November 4, 2009

Hello everyone, Wayne Kaiser here with CEFA. I am very excited to announce that, we at CEFA (Canada) in conjunction with DFCA e.V (Germany) have secured player contracts with SV Heimstetten 1st Team for the 2009/10 background season (2nd Half).

Stephan Ewashko (1989) of Edmonton, Alberta Canada has signed his player contract already and Justin Ammar (1988) of St. Albert, Alberta Canada will be signing his contract when he arrives back in Germany in January.

Both Stephan and Justin have shown exceptionally well during their stay in Germany and we here at CEFA are very very proud of them. Hard work and perseverance certainly pays off as evidenced by Stephan and Justin’s efforts.

Stephan is enjoying Germany and has experienced a great many things while there. He has always been a great talent and we knew it was just a matter of time before he would be rewarded! For Stephan we need to acknowledge the facts that he worked his way on the team….was injured….was rehabilitated….worked his way back onto the team and continues to grow each week. He has a dream and remains focused each and every day!

Justin left for Germany in early August after working exceptionally hard all summer with our goalie coach Jose Acosta as well as pushing himself on his days off from Academy. Because of this we felt he would have a very good chance of securing a spot on a top quality team in Germany! His hard work continued in Germany and he will be rewarded with a contract in January.

CONGRATULATIONS to the both of you from all of us here in CEFA Canada!!

We expect more signings to come in the New Year as well!

We are also very excited about another announcement we have! This December we here at CEFA will have the honour of having Michael Matejka….Manager of SV Heimstetten as well as Dominik Schmitt, our German Academy DFCA e.V Head coach as well as Captain of SV Heimstetten and former Bundesliga ll player, both arriving in Edmonton December 10th for one week to work at the Academy as well as to scout out players throughout Edmonton. It is a great opportunity for everyone here to show their stuff as well as find out what they may need to work on if they wish to pursue soccer in Europe. Michael is THE head man at Heimstetten and is looking forward to his stay here in Canada. Dominik will run some Academy sessions as well as give you some valuable tips on the game!

CEFA Announcement - August 11, 2009

We are pleased to announce some important news from Germany. Our Academy in Germany has set up a program in Heimstetten, Germany with Dominic Schmitt our new training coach for all of our morning training sessions. This will further develop all of the players living in Heimstetten as they will now receive from Dominic, a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 2 hour sessions each week, where they will receive Technical and Tactical training. Training will run from 11:00AM to 1:00PM and will begin immediately. Wednesday mornings will be set aside for German language lessons.

Dominic Schmitt brings a wealth of experience to the table, but is still young enough to relate well to the players. As we list what he has accomplished you will understand that we have a very good man training our players.

1996-2001 Under 17 & 19 for Munchen 1860’s
2001-2002 League 5 for Riginsburg
2002-2005 League 4 for Jahns Riginsburg
2006 League 3 for Jahn Riginsburg
2007 League 2 for Jahn Riginsburg
2007-2009 Currently the Captain of the Heimstetten #1 Team

In 2000 his Munchen 1860’s Under 19 team won the German Cup and in 2002 Dominic signed his first professional contract with Jahn Riginsburg.

With our move to Heimstetten and now with our relationship with Domic, we feel that our players are in an even better environment. We have some major plans with Heimstetten in the future as we also have on board the Heimstetten Clubs Manager as our new Vice President of our Academy in Germany. Watch for more news as we receive it.

As of August 6th we will have 10 Academy members in Germany. They are Stephan Ewashko (89), Gary Thirnbeck (89), Jose Acosta (89), Zack Kaiser (91), Monty Haines (89), Misha Bains (90), Jason Triance (89), Danny Calihoo (90), William Yousif (91) and the Newest member Justin Ammar (88).

All of the players in Germany are now playing regularly on teams.
Stuttgart Kickers: Jose Acosta and Misha Bains
Heimstetten Under 23’s: Stephan Ewashko and Zack Kaiser
Heimstetten Under 19’s : William Yousif
SV Dornach: Monty Hains, Jason Triance, Danny Calihoo and Gary Thirnbeck

Justin Ammar will be joining up with the Heimstetten Under 23’s on his arrival as they requested him because they wanted a good goalie.

So all is good for the boys in Germany. They are all contributing both offensively and defensively and are learning the German system as they go along. They all understand that it is a process of training and developing that will get them to the next levels and we here in Canada know that they are working harder than they have ever worked in order to achieve their goals. In Canada we can get them to level they need to be at in order to go over to Germany. Once they get to Germany they are met by UEFA level coaches that will proceed to work them to the next level.

In Canada we are working on a 3 week trip next August 2010 for our Academy members that wish to see what all happens in Germany. They will receive morning training there and will also see the boys who are currently in Germany play and practice. And of course……we will see a couple of Professional games while there. One of those games we hope to see is Bayern Munich playing in Alliance Arena. You will also see Germany!

One final bit of news we have is that we are moving our Academy headquarters to Heimstetten from Oberbergkirchen. We have a new house in Heimstetten that the boys are moving into August 6th. We will post pictures ASAP, but it is an excellent choice for us as it now reduces the boys travel time immensely. The boys in Heimstetten have a 5 minute walk to practice and the SV Dornach boys have only a 10 minute drive to Dornach. Munich itself is now only 10-15 minutes away. The boys in Stuttgart have their own apartment as well.

All is well with CEFA. The summer months were constant, with many members on holidays, but everyone is coming back and we are welcoming a whole new crop of new players. We have 8 new members already for August in the first week.

What you see at each Academy session is simple stuff designed to get you to the next level. Most of it is coming direct from Germany as that is what they feel we need to incorporate our sessions with. Specific Soccer fitness, coordination and technique……..meaning lots and lots of touches on the ball.

Now the biggest question we at CEFA have for you is this…………

Where do you see yourself in the next 3 months……. Year…….. 5 years…..???

Ask the boys in Germany if its worth the effort!
